We've been lucky enough to have several visits from Danielle Ate The Sandwich over the years. She's performed live during one of our live broadcasts from the early days of the Underground Music Showcase and has stopped by our performance studio on a number of other occasions. Explore these audio archives of some of her most recent visits.
On a cold February morning, Danielle Ate The Sandwich made her way through the snow and ice to play a few songs for us. She caught up with 99 on the Morning Sound Alternative to chat about her work for the new documentary of Edith Lake Wilkinson called Packed in a Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson. In addition to playing music from the soundtack, she also shared a classic version of '17 and 53' as well as a tender cover of 'My Girl' - she will play live on 3/1/15 at Shine in Boulder. Local Gold: We had an opportunity to spend some time with Gregory Alan Isakov. He's certainly no stranger to the KGNU studios, having performed multiple times over the years. On this occasion, we caught up with him about his writing style and approach to instrumentation. We also spoke about his collaboration with the Colorado Symphony and the challenges of performing with an orchestra.
Local Gold: Local Gold features some of the amazing talent right here in Colorado. Over the years we've had the good fortune to have regular visits from Esmé Patterson. Whether she is joined with her friends in Paper Bird or sharing material from her solo projects, it is always a treat to have her on our airwaves. Her latest visit features material from her second solo album Woman to Woman.
