AfterFM - Chris Mohr
Chris Mohr show archive and podcasts on afterfm.com. I was born in a farm community and first fell in love with classical music at age 12 when I heard Vivaldi on the Cleveland classical music station. I started composing at that age as well. I wrote a Mass at age 12, an oratorio at age 16, published a book of piano music at age 23. My musical Orphans in Candyland was published in 1977. In 1978 I started hosting classical music radio shows and have hosted classical shows for over 40 years. In 1979 I published my most successful work, the rock musical Ducktails, and Bobbysox. My album August Light (including my Wedding Cantata) came out in 1987. I conducted parts of my opera with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in 1991. My two-CD set The Classical Music Start-Up Kit came out on Naxos in 1994 and sold over 150,000 copies. My opera, From the Realm of the Shadow, came out on Naxos Records in 2001. My newest book, The Grand Unified Theory of Music, just became available online. My book can be purchased here.
During my shows, listeners can expect to hear classical music or opera, with a strong focus on upcoming live concerts and operas
