Biography: I'm a native of Washington state, a retired dentist and an amateur musician who plays ragtime piano and bluegrass banjo. I joined KGNU in 1980 by way of a chance encounter with the then-current station manager who was looking for additional programming and I offered ragtime. My affiliation with OGGG came about 15 years later. I'm an avid record collector and had built up a solid library of both ragtime and bluegrass, so it was a natural transition.
On Ragtime America, you can expect to hear mostly ragtime with some blues and early jazz. I play ragtime dating from its inception in the 1890s up to the ragtime of today.
On Old Grass Gnu Grass, you'll hear mostly old grass featuring the original purveyors of the genre as well as modern "traditionalists."
