We have been a Communikey Festival partner since 2008. Our festival coverage began during the 1st Edition of the festival with a live broadcast of the finale from Trilogy. Over the years we have set up live broadcasts from Apex Movement, Trilogy, The Fox Theatre, as well as our own radio studios. We've joined forces with Communikey to feature broadcasts from artists such as The Books, Matmos, Hauschka, Pole, Chancha via Circuito, and many more. Please enjoy these broadcast archives from a few Communikey events over the years.
Volker Bertelmann records under the name Hauschka. His expansive and delicate material orbits a universe centered by the prepared piano. We were lucky enough to spend some time with him during a visit to our Boulder studio in the Fall of 2007. Volker caught up with Marshall Demeranville and Kate Lesta for a live performance and interview. Our studio space has a dilapidated upright Baldwin piano that slumps with bad musical posture in the corner of the room... Volker loved it! He used it to make something uniquely Hauschka.
Communikey Archives 2008: Pole is the artistic name of Stefan Betke. Born in Düsseldorf, Pole is best known for his glitchy dubbed out sounds. Pole performed a live set during the festival finale at Trilogy to close out the 1st Edition of the Communikey Festival of Electronic Arts. The festival finale was our first live broadcast from a Communikey event.
Communikey Archives 2008: Retina.it is Lino Monaco and Nicola Buonoand. They joined forces with John Hughes III (Slicker / Hefty Records) to perform a set a live set during the festival finale at Trilogy to close out the 1st Edition of the Communikey Festival of Electronic Arts. The festival finale was our first live broadcast from a Communikey event.
Communikey Archives 2008: Multicast is an electronic duo from the Colorado area. They are one of many Colorado artists who are showcased during Communikey events. Multicast performed a live set during the festival finale at Trilogy to close out the 1st Edition of the Communikey Festival of Electronic Arts. The festival finale was our first live broadcast from a Communikey event.
Explore the archives with this stunning studio session from Matmos. We were thrilled to have a visit from M. C. Schmidt and Drew Daniel in advance of a Communikey show at the Boulder Theater. After a brief interview and a quick highlight reel of their discography, we turned the airwaves over to them. What happened next was an hour of remarkable radio. Enjoy.
