In advance of their 11/14/14 CD release concert at the Gothic Theatre, we caught up with Hayley Helmericks of Snake Rattle Rattle Snake to chat about their album. We premiered "The Breath and the Glow" from Totem. Hayley discussed the process the band went through to create the highly anticipated new recording. This interview originally aired during the Afternoon Sound Alternative hosted by Adam Taylor.
Local Gold: Eighteen members of the Itchy-O collective performed live at our studios. We've had visits from Itchy-O in the past but never had we attempted to capture one of their live performances. At long last, here is the evidence from that session. Members of the group spoke with Nat about their upcoming Gothic Theater performance.
Local Gold: The gentlemen of Rubedo have deep Denver roots going all the way back to grade school. They have released their album "Love Is The Answer" on Bandcamp with a name your price model that in their view eliminates any barriers of getting the music in the ears of music lovers. They stopped by the studio for a performance and interview on The Afternoon Sound Alternative with Wally.
Local Gold: The Blue Rider stopped by the KGNU studios for a live performance before the release of their vinyl EP. The band is named after either the controversial public art piece at Denver's International Airport or the fact that all of the band members have blue eyes. It's a mystery really. The one thing we do know for sure is this land-locked surf and psychedelic-infused local band kicks ass.
