Vintage Blues from the depths of the record crates.

We had a chance to visit with Elephant Revival just before their two night stand at the Boulder Theater as part of their "Birds of a Feather Autumnal Ball" with Paper Bird and Horse Feathers. The band played a few tunes and spoke about the development of new material as well as the challenges of performing in a fuselage. Michael Buck was the host on the Afternoon Sound Alternative. Local Gold: We had an opportunity to spend some time with Gregory Alan Isakov. He's certainly no stranger to the KGNU studios, having performed multiple times over the years. On this occasion, we caught up with him about his writing style and approach to instrumentation. We also spoke about his collaboration with the Colorado Symphony and the challenges of performing with an orchestra.
Local Gold: We had an opportunity to spend a little time with The Railsplitters on KGNU's Old Grass Gnu Grass show. They shared a few live tunes and spoke with Brian Eyster about how they collaborate as a band and their developing sound. Their first release is out and showcases their balanced and emerging style.
Local Gold: Check out a recent in-studio performance from Paper Bird. It's always wonderful to have Paper Bird stop by our studios. Over the years we've had the pleasure of watching the band evolve musically. Along the way they've taken time to set-up shop in KGNU's live performance studio to share their latest songs. This particular performance showcased music from their latest album "Rooms" just before a Red Rocks performance.
