IFTTT is a free service that enables users to connect different web applications together through simple conditional statements known as "Recipes".
(pronunciation: "ift" as in "gift"short for "If This Then That")
To get started with AfterFM notifications, go to IFTTT and sign up for a free account. You'll also need to install the IFTTT app on your favorite mobile device or tablet. Once this is all set, follow the steps below.
Okay, so how can this do something useful for me ?
IFTTT is capable of all sorts of useful things, but for AfterFM and KGNU listeners, it can be used to receive notifications when your favorite Host , DJ or Show is on the air .
Although AfterFM doesn't yet have a dedicated mobile app with notifications (feel free to donate to our development budget !) we can still get mobile notifications courtesy of IFTTT's great mobile app for iOS or Android.
The first thing you'll need is the notification link for your favorite Host or Show. This can be found on each show page or Host specific page.
For example, lets say you want to get notified when Reggae Blood Lines is on the air. To do this, go to the show-specific page afterfm.com/reggae and look for this shows notification link.
Or, for example, lets say you want to get notified when Joel Davis is on the air. To do this, go to the host-specific page afterfm.com/JoelDavis and look for Joel's notification link.
Now that you have the notification link, you can move on to the steps below to set up your notification using IFTTT
